East Lake Classic
The East Lake Classic is an FMBC regional marching band competition. The Classic is held at the end of October each school year and is our biggest single day event. The Classic has had the honor of hosting regional and out-of-state bands. The Classic has a reputation for being a friendly and well-organized competition. We are also know as "the competition with the bake sale".

2019 Rehearsal
Summer Band Pre-Camp
Starting in June and until band camp begins in July, we have weekly band classes in the afternoon for each section. Incoming freshman are encouraged to attend.
Band Camp
Band camp is every year in July (dates and time vary, check the calendar). Band camp is an intensive 1-2 weeks of rehearsal. We learn the music and formations for our upcoming marching band performance.
At the end of band camp is our parent preview. This is an opportunity for friends and family members to see what their band student(s) has accomplished. It is also an opportunity for new families to meet some of our 'seasoned' families.

Middle School Night
Football Games
During football season, the marching band performs at all home football games. We also attend two of away games. (Check the calendar for game information.)
Senior Night
Late in the football season East Lake High School recognizes the football team, cheer team, and marching band's graduating seniors.
Middle School Night
One football game each season area middle school band students join our band. The middle school students participate playing the stand music and have the opportunity to watch the marching band perform their show.
Marching Band Competitions
During marching band season, our band participates in local competitions. We typically attend the Seminole Sound (late September), Largo (early October), and the Tarpon Springs Music Festival (mid-late October). The school calendar often influences which competitions we are able to attend. Competition information is provided during the season and posted on our calendar. Family members are encouraged to attend.

Marching Band
Each November our marching band students participate in District 9 MPAs.
Jazz Band
Each February our jazz band students participate in a a separate Jazz Band MPA.
Solo & Ensemble
Each February our band students participate in a variety of solo and ensemble events. Students who earn Superior are eligible to participate in State MPAs in March.
Concert Band and Wind Ensemble
Each March our Concert Band and Wind Ensemble participate in this District 9 MPA event. This is also when our student conductor(s) have the opportunity to be evaluated.
Ice Breaker
One evening each spring, our Band Boosters host an ice breaker. Any 8th grade student who might be interested in joining the East Lake Silver Sound should attend. Incoming freshmen participate in ice breaker activities with our current band members; parents spend the evening learning about being a band parent, the East Lake Silver Sound, and the band boosters.
Each year, the marching band participates in the Tarpon Springs Annual Christmas Parade. Every other January, the marching band participates in the Tarpon Springs Martin Luther King Junior Parade. Every March, the marching band participates in the Oldsmar Days and Nights Parade.

PRISM
CONCERT
Our Prism Concert is held in December. For this concert, all of the East Lake High School performing arts groups join together for an amazing holiday spectacular. Since this first combined concert in 2018, this has quickly become an East Lake favorite. Come early to reserve your seat.
SPRING
MUSICAL
Each spring select band members perform in the orchestra for the Drama Department's musical. This is a wonderful opportunity for our musicians to experience performing live music with a theater production.
Band Banquet
Our last event of the school year is the annual band banquet. Students and their families join together for an evening to celebrate the year's accomplishments. Our seniors handle the decorating and create the annual slide show. The banquet also includes senior pass-downs, band superlatives, individual awards, and the announcement of the next year’s show. The band banquet is a wonderful culmination of the band year. Banquet tickets go on sale approximately six weeks before the banquet.
